Spring 2009 Collection

I  have seen this collection ages ago for my college project, while i was looking at london fashion week, I reconised the similarity with Bora Aksu's collection for Autum/Winter 2013, where i literally uploded on my blogspot. Specially they are bits and pieces such as the lightness of the meterial, the round parts and the way its been placed over the top looks like from one collection however they are two different designers collections in different years.

London Fashion Week

Bora Aksu is a fashion desiginer, who graduated his MA from central saint martins, been in uk for 15 years and  he is from Turkey. His collections are in london and across the world such as selfriges, Wolf & Badger and Liberty & Co. I literally reconised him from London Fashion Week Website but as far as i seen his collection i find it interesting, specially in Autum/Winter 2013 Collection. I have uploaded my favroute one from his collection.

Spring/summer 2008 Runway

This runway collection was impressive it also had a mixture of different ideas and concepts brought together. While I was watching the catwalk show, I find it a bit simple start but as the show continued, it became more interesting and initially influenced with the concept.

The beginning started with a suit collection, they have designed classy and feminine garments I really like the silhouette of the garment, it was completely grey suited with a thick red waistband wrapped around the waist, which points out the fitted and figure hugging shapes.
The blazers designed as sharp and smart looking, it reminds me of a masculine business wear and it also has designed with different materials, such as shinny and mate fabrics, I personally think that the colour scheme was quite dark for the spring/summer collection,
It looked like a winter collection although the whole movement of the show was the combination with the headpieces, which designed by Philip Treacy.

The hat ideas where futuristic and visually pleasing appearance, the ideas where great but the most favourite ones that I am in love with is the butterfly and the metal designed one, where I uploaded them on my blog. I find it quite interesting because it has nicely detailed the butterflies placed really well, the colours are beautiful, and it looks realistic. The other design it give me the idea off Chinese culture, it made from metal, the details based on flowers , it’s quite heavy to wear, but looks stunning with the garment together. The whole outfit is looking perfect, I also was interested with both of these because it connects to my previous research from other designers.

The show becomes more interesting because the silhouette changes into more futuristic shapes of garment, such as the three-dimension example, high shoulders, round skirt,  butterfly design over the shoulders and diamond shapes used. It becomes mostly dresses than suit, again the colours and fabrics becomes wintery, its black and gold sequence fabrics but effective. The other changes was the summary concept where the light fabrics such as chiffon, silk and silky satin fabrics. The prints are bright rainbow colours with different butterfly designs and fitted silhouette changed to draped dresses.

Designers Alexandra McQueen, grey sleevless knee lenght dress with a red thick waist band, the head pieace made by Philip Traecy, butterflies, love the idea and its really impressive.

Designer Alexandra McQueen, My second pieces im in love with, great idea, the head piece from Philip Traecy.
